One of a Kind

Here is a photo of a dishcloth I knit that took me about 3 weeks to do. Never to be done again, by me anyway. There were 6 ladies that wanted to learn that pattern. I am the only one that actually stuck with it and finished my dish cloth. It was a very confusing pattern. I did a lot of ripping out.

I bought some new yarn to knit anothr pair of socks. The needles are smaller and the yarn more colorful. this pair I'm doing on my own (I hope).

Today I cleaned the basement of my trailer. Took out everything & vacummed. I also had to replace the seat cover on one of my chairs. That mouse I had chewed on the seat cover. I had some blue cloth left from my dining room chairs and I redid it in that fabric. Naturally, I have to buy some longer screws as I did not take off the old fabric. To many staples to remove. It does look good though.

Tomorrow they are coming to wash and hand wax my trailer. It is so dirty and it needs a good wax. They are also putting a treatment on my roof and the rubber around the slides. I checked the batteries and added water. I'm trying to get all ready to leave.

Knit & Sit

I found a yarn shop in Ft Walton Beach and have been going to a Knit & Sit on Thursdays. The ladies I met there are so different from each other. Our common thread is knitting. It is nice to just sit and visit with ladies of various ages and from different parts of the country. Most of them are from the Great Lakes states and come here every winter. They are all so talented. I have learned a lot from them. Every one of them is very supportive and willing to help with the different projects.

I'm leaning to make socks. I finished my first pair today and am starting a new pair. Hopefully I can finish them on my own as I am leaving the area soon.

Getting ready for 2010 trip

I am in the process of getting ready to start my 2010 trip. A friend, Rita, is coming out and we are going to the Everglades and then wind our way back to Pensacola for a flute festival. Then north via La, Ms, Al, Ky and Tn. Those are the states I have left to see on this side of the country. I long to see a cactus!

The truck gets serviced tomorrow and I have a list of things to check on the trailer before I leave. It also needs to be washed and waxed. Something I'm not looking forward to. I might pay to have it done.

I'm eager and reluctant to leave. I have made some good friends here. The owners Wendall, Lane and Jeanine. They have been really wonderful. I recommend this park anytime.

Sisters Visit

My sister flew into Jacksonville, Fl and I picked her up and we drove to Stuart, Fl to visit some friends of hers.

The weather was not as warm as we would have liked, but it was warmer than Oklahoma! As you can see, I made 2 new friends.

We did find a bead shop and a yarn shop. I bought beeds for a bracelet and some ribbon to knit a small purse. I have the purse knitted, now I just need to put it together. The bracelet is another story. I have to set up the loom, but I have a lot to do to get ready to leave Fl and be on my way. I hope to have it done by May.

We stopped at the Kennedy Space Center and took the bus tour. Naturally we did not plan and you really do need a full day to everything. It is quite impressive. We got to Jacksonville the day before her flight so we would not be wiped out by the trip. I still had 5 1/2 hour drive to get back and she had a long flight.

It was good to spend time with her. I miss living closer to her, but Ok is not on my list of places to live. I'm leaning toward Az. right now. That might change when the time comes to leave the road.
